Cleo is teaching Mauser to play strip poker with a deck of homemade cards. Cleo (looking at Mauser's hand) "Oh, a royal flush -- not good." Mauser has to remove an article of clothing. Cleo tries to convince Sarge and Hel to join them, but they are busy. Besides, Sarge says, "I've already seen him naked." Voice interrupts to order the team to Housing Level 215 to settle a critical situation. Cleo tells Mauser they'll be right back, so "keep your shirt off."

Raina enters the office of Dr. Lim, "Neuro-surgery while you wait". He is apparently the one responsible for programming her so she could read people's minds. Raina reveals a scar on her forehead and says she no longer has those powers and wants them restored. She picks up his "transplane generator", which was created to expand the powers of the mind. Raina plans to use it as a weapon, however.

Cleo, Hel and Sarge arrive on Level 215 and are speculating on why Voice wouldn't tell them what the situation there was. Hel says that the last time that happened, they were going up against Raina, and Voice didn't want her to read their minds. Just then they see Raina dragging the doc along the corridor. Sarge: "I don't believe this. What do you have to do to kill this woman?" They surround Raina and are surprised when she doesn't try to use her powers. But then she pulls out the transplane generator and fires it towards Sarge and Cleo. It hits Cleo and vaporizes her.

Act I

Raina blasts a hole in the tunnel wall and escapes. Hel and Sarge run to where Cleo was.

Cleo wakes up with a headache and wonders why Hel and Sarge are looking so sad. She assures them that she feels fine, but they can't see or hear her. Sarge says at least she didn't suffer, like Dev, and Hel says she went quickly, like Carla. Cleo realizes that she must be dead. She looks on, dismayed, as they leave, and wonders who Dev and Carla are. She follows them. Hel is sorry she didn't play Cleo's card game, and Cleo says she forgives her. She tells Sarge she forgives her, too, for having the emotional capacity of the terminator: "It's just who you are."

When they land at the next level, Cleo falls through the floor and ends up in Dr. Lim's lab, where he and Raina are discussing the transplane generator. He says she shouldn't just blast people -- he's still not sure what it does to them. Raina says at least it shuts them up. Raina tells him that the Baileys took her psi ability because they got nervous when she could read them just as easily as humans. She wants Dr. Lim to give her those powers back. She sees Hel and Sarge approaching in a security hologram and goes off to take care of them. Cleo tries to stop her but is unable to materialize.

Cleo finds Hel and Sarge and tries to warn them, but they still can't hear her. She tries to make contact with Sarge "from the spirit world", but Sarge walks right through her. Cleo sees Raina aiming the weapon at Sarge, but doesn't know how to keep Sarge from being vaporized.

Act II

Not knowing what else to do, Cleo screams as loudly as she can. Raina, surprisingly, hears her, and her aim is deflected. Sarge backflips out of the way of the blast. Cleo realizes she must be haunting Raina and leaps down to her level.

Hel wants to know how Sarge dodged the blast. Sarge says she was thinking of Cleo and felt a sort of annoying presence. Hel: "That's sweet'" Sarge objects: "I don't do sweet." Mauser tells them he is getting readings on Raina's weapon and needs them to draw her fire some more.

Cleo is following Raina, tormenting her. Cleo: "How does it feel to have someone mess with your head for a change, huh?" Raina finally recognizes the voice she is hearing as "that little ditz I blasted on the housing level." Cleo is incensed at this description, but at that moment Hel and Sarge open fire on Raina. Raina fires her weapon, but Mauser says they need to get closer. Hel draws Raina's fire, and Raina blasts everything Hel tries to hide behind. Just as Raina is about to vaporize Hel, Cleo shouts Raina's name, distracting her. Cleo: "Psych! Made you look!" Raina escapes through a shielded doorway to return to Dr. Lim's lab.

Mauser reveals that his readings show there is no way to deflect the weapon. Sarge says she is sure she feels Cleo's presence. Cleo: "Oh, Sarge, you have to let me go!" Sarge asks Mauser to run a scan on their location, and he picks up a trace of unidentifiable matter. They all realize that Cleo may not be dead, after all. Mauser says if they can get Raina's weapon, he could try to reconstruct what it destroyed, i.e. Cleo. Hel and Sarge decide to storm the lab. Hel: "We do this one for Cleo." Cleo follows them, misty-eyed.

Dr. Lim puts Raina under a force field, which restores her mind control powers. Raina starts to convince him to kill himself, but is interrupted when Hel and Sarge blast into the lab. Hel gets the generator and aims it at Raina but stops when Voice tells her that Raina has switched her vision of Raina with that of Sarge and that she's really aiming at Sarge. Hel is confused. Cleo comes up beside Raina and screams in her ear. Raina loses her mind lock on Hel. Cleo: "Sorry. Did I break your concentration?" She starts singing "The Wheels on the Bus", and Raina is unable to control her thoughts. Mauser tells Hel to shoot, and the blast might draw Cleo's molecular structure back, but before she can, Raina gets the weapon. Hel shouts to Cleo to let Raina shoot her. Raina keeps firing, just missing Hel and Sarge, who are flipping all over the place to avoid the blasts. Finally Hel is trapped under some debris, and Raina aims for her, but Cleo jumps in the way, and the blast brings her back. She kicks the weapon out of Raina's hand and decks her with a right hook to the jaw. Sarge and Hel run to Cleo to celebrate her reappearance. Cleo says it was interesting listening to them talk when they thought she was dead and wants to know who Dev and Carla were, but Sarge says they will talk about it later.

Back at the lab, Hel calls to Cleo to come and teach them to play her card game. Cleo is happy to oblige and begins telling them the rules -- the player to the dealer's right (Cleo) gets all the aces, for example.
