General Rumors about XWP Archive

Here is the archive!!!

These babies cover December 2001...that's why we call it an ARCHIVE!

Last update: 02-12-02

12-26-01. Check out this fun website. It lists the cast of Lord of the RIngs with pictures with special emphasis on the New Zealander actors that we have become accustomed to through Pacific Renaissance productions! Click on http://www.quintessentialwebsites.com/lordoftherings/moviecast/.

12-26-01. Renee O'Connor has been added to the list of guests for the Feb 15-18 2002 Pasadena Xena Convention. Whoosh is still considering running another panel discussion at the convention. She is also going to appear in a reading of the Love Letters play. Rumor has it that Ted raimi will be doing the male part, but it has not been confirmed yet. Other guests for that weekend will currently include: Jaqueline Kim (Lao Ma), Bruce Campbell (Autolycus), Kevin Smith (Ares), Ted Raimi (Joxer), Claire Stansfield (Alti), Alexandra Tydings (Aphrodite), Tim Omundson (Eli), Hudson Leick (Callisto), Kate Stewart (Genia), and Victoria Pratt (Sarge of Cleopatra 2525, star of the new MUTANT X, Cyane of Xena). 12-19-01. A reminder about all the Virtual Xena Seasons sites out there. To my knowledge there are currently three operating. The most high-profile one is the subtext one ofr which Missy Good is writing for. The Virtual seasons are unfolding at the following sites:

12-16-01. The threatened Director's Cut of Friend in Need is coming along nicely. Last week Robert Tapert, Lucy Lawless, and Renee O'Connor were in a studio taping their commentary. Word has it that Xena's sixth season will be offered first on DVD with a tentative date of release of Spring 2002, though it may be sooner. There is interest in having commentary with this release, but it has not been decided either way yet. Keep you fingers crossed. I find it most peculair that they would choose season six to start with, but perhaps their reasoning is if they can sell season six, they will probably be able to sell anything.

12-16-01. It's time for Kevin "Ares" Smith news! He is currently filming the Sci-Fi Channel adaptation of Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld. There are murmurings that if it goes well, it may become a series. The film is scheduled to air Spring 2002. Next winter Mr. Smith has been signed to play Dr. Frank N. Furter in the Aukland, New Zealand production of The Rocky Horror Show.

12-11-01. There's an on-line video of Lucy Lawless showing off the New Zealand locals used in the movie Lord of the Rings. Click on http://www.purenz.com/?98B94218-FEC9-430A-8CEF-AB2A52EAFCE1.
