When an old friend of Sydney's, Bruce Farrow, is framed for plundering the tomb of Thutmose III and pocketing the Pharaoh's legendary diamond, Sydney and Nigel jet off to Cairo to chase down the real tomb raider. The theft of the gem, believed to have fallen from the sky inside a meteor, lures mercenary Avery Ko, an unscrupulous rival Relic Hunter, from the shadows. The trail leads them all to Amsterdam, where the stone is to be cut and sold to the highest bidders. But Sydney, Nigel and Bruce discover that the rock is not a diamond after all, and if cut by laser will unleash an inexplicable force that could cause major destruction -- just like the tomb's mysterious hieroglyphs described.
