INSIDE THE HEAD OF PAULLY ADAMS

How is it that you can spell Joxer's name correctly
but you spell my name A-R-S-E?
Gabrielle was severely bitten by the writing bug.

Introduction

[01] Paully is another talented bard who is sometimes overlooked. She is a very nice person and I love her work

Paully's Head

AMY MURPHY:
[02] Why did you start writing?

PAULLY ADAMS:
[03] Started just for the fun of it. I didn't become serious until my "Sins of the Father" series, that deals with child abuse and the after effects.

MURPHY:
[04] If I had to do it all over, would be a bard?

ADAMS:
[05] Yes. In fact, I'm thinking about writing some non Xenaverse stuff, maybe some Uber to stretch my wings out.

MURPHY:
[06] What is it like for a day in the life of Paully Adams?

ADAMS:
[07] On My Days Off: Get up, turn on my computer, and write.
Work out (lifting weights, riding bike.)
Watch Xena.
Listen to Soft Rock/Pop.
When I work:
Wake up and work out.
Work.
Come home and think about stories.
Watch Xena.

MURPHY:
[08] How do you handle stress?

ADAMS:
[09] Dance and sing. Write. Pick on siblings.

MURPHY:
[10] How would you like to be remembered?

ADAMS:
[11] No matter what I did, I gave it my all. A true friend to the end.

MURPHY:
[12] Your pet peeve?

ADAMS:
[13] People who suffer at the hands of oppression who then turn around and oppress others. People who chew with their mouths open.

MURPHY:
[14] Who is Paully Adams?

ADAMS:
[15] A lovable, non-stereotypical person who loves to be what people don't expect. Hard exterior, mushy interior, but it takes a lot to break through to the inside. But most people find it worth the effort.

MURPHY:
[15] Do Fans expect too much from the stars?

ADAMS:
[16] Yes. The stars are not the characters they play. Most of us fell in love with the characters, not the stars themselves, therefore our expectations are high. When the stars show their real selves, most of us are let down.

MURPHY:
[17] What do you feel about censorship?

ADAMS:
[18] Everyone has the right to say or write what they want, as long as I have the right not to listen or read.

MURPHY:
[19] If you could cure any one disease, what would it be?

ADAMS:
[20] Cancer. I've lost family members and friends from several types of cancers. Seeing someone die slowly was the hardest thing to do.

MURPHY:
[21] Do you believe in capital punishment?

ADAMS:
[22] No. As a Christian, I believe no one is beyond God's grace and redeeming love. Life is too precious, I don't have the right to end someone else's.

MURPHY:
[23] What is the most sensitive part of your body?

ADAMS:
[24] My heart.

MURPHY:
[25] Any future plans?

ADAMS:
[26] Writing because it brings me joy. Performing because I'm a ham. Loving because I can't do without it. Believing because life would have no meaning without it. Praying because I need help!

MURPHY:
[27] Depression?

ADAMS:
[28] Go into my room and be by myself. Then my friends would call or write and keep me busy.

MURPHY:
[29] What is the hardest thing you have done?

ADAMS:
[30] Live through my childhood, trying to be perfect, and denying who I was.

MURPHY:
[31] Easiest thing you have done?

ADAMS:
[32] Conquered Pokemon Blue Version.

MURPHY:
[33] Any advice for writers?

ADAMS:
[34] Start writing about something you know. Then focus on stuff that comes from your heart. Third, spread your wings and try something new, but never forget to do research.

MURPHY:
[35] Ever published?

ADAMS:
[36] Nope, but I hope to be someday. I just don't know how to do it.

MURPHY:
[37] What does Xena mean to you?

ADAMS:
[38] Without a doubt, the biggest gift the show gave me was the courage to be who I was without worrying about fitting in. It made me believe in deep love, that goes beyond any bounds or limitations we try to set.

MURPHY:
[39] How you feel about Xena's demise?

ADAMS:
[40] Mixed bag. I love the fact Xena found redemption, but I'm uneasy about her death. Since Gabrielle is my favorite character, I don't want to see her in any pain. But it sure has made an impact on the fan-fic world. If I had my way, the show would never end. Season 7! Season 7!

MURPHY:
[41] Ant dreams? Hopes? Wishes?

ADAMS:
[42] To find my 'Gabrielle', my true soulmate. To help people become more open minded. To help people to love and have fun!

MURPHY:
[43] Who do you trust?

ADAMS:
[44] God. My baby Brother. My best friend. The people of St. John's Metropolitan Community Church (http://www.stjohnsmcc.org/).

MURPHY:
[45] What every writer needs?

ADAMS:
[46] A good computer with word processor. A Dictionary. An Audience. A willingness to be open and to share.

MURPHY:
[47] Do you believe in prayer?

ADAMS:
[48] Of course! There has been times when it was the only thing I could cling to. I believe in a higher power. There have been too many miracles in my life.

MURPHY:
[49] Do you believe in subtext?

ADAMS:
[50] Yes. Okay the first five seasons, except THE QUEST. I can understand why some did not see it. But season six? They were shouting it from the rooftops.

MURPHY:
[51] Why is your best friend your best friend?

ADAMS:
[52] He accepts me as who I am. He challenges my mind and gets me to try new things I trust him. We compliment each other well.

MURPHY:
[53] What would I experience if someone read my stories aloud in public?

ADAMS:
[54] My poetry: Proud. My love Stories: A little embarrassment. Sins Series: Very vulnerable.

MURPHY:
[55] What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you?

ADAMS:
[56] Not much. For some reason, I'm the romantic in my relationships.

MURPHY:
[57] Next Theme?

ADAMS:
[58] I'm already working on it. Dealing with the Finale of the show. Then I'm starting on an Uber story line and finishing up the Sophia/Sins of the Father/etc. storylines.

MURPHY:
[59] The last thing that has made you smile.

ADAMS:
[60] My nieces. They are just like my little brother.

MURPHY:
[61] What made you angry?

ADAMS:
[62] I've just come back on an exciting trip to Canada only to come back to a very closed minded small community.

MURPHY:
[63] You are all powerful? What would I do?

ADAMS:
[64] Stop all Child and Spousal Abuse.

MURPHY:
[65] Do you have stalkers?

ADAMS:
[66] No. And I don't want any.

MURPHY:
[67] What do you consider your best work? URL?

ADAMS:
[68] My best work, in my opinion, is the "Sins of the Father" series. I write about dark subjects better than I do light hearted ones. But my love stories, which are usually inspired by songs, are very good as well. All my work can be found at http://www.xenaeyes.com in the collective.

MURPHY:
[69] What is the stupidest thing you did as a teen?

ADAMS:
[70] I skipped school constantly my senior year at the age of sixteen. Nothing but trouble. But it was so fun!

MURPHY:
[71] Can you stop writing for a while?

ADAMS:
[72] Depends on how long is 'a while'. I could probably stop for a month or two. But my muse will start calling again.

MURPHY:
[73] Astrological sign?

ADAMS:
[74] I'm Aquarius, and according to Ginger (SpiceWorld), we don't believe in anything. I believe in God. All others cash. From what I read, we are loners. Yep, that's me. Great Friends, Rotten lovers. I'm indeed a great friend. And so far, I've no complaints in the Lover's category, except from men. Of course, I'm gay so... I really don't know if I fit my astrological sign.

MURPHY:
[75] Best Feeling in the World?

ADAMS:
[76] Love, in all forms, especially being in love. Nothing like it.

MURPHY:
[77] Worst Feeling?

ADAMS:
[78] Emptiness. I rather feel anger or sadness.

MURPHY:
[79] Favorite Song at the moment?

ADAMS:
[80] "Dirty Pop" by N'Sync

MURPHY:
[81] What is the first thing you think about in the morning?

ADAMS:
[82] Sex or bathroom.

MURPHY:
[83] Do you get stuck while writing? What do you do to help?

ADAMS:
[84] I always am stuck on writing happy stories, something light. Usually I look at a comedy episode of Xena or watch Comedy Central.

MURPHY:
[85] Gossip?

ADAMS:
[86] I don't like it. Gossip is just hearsay, or stuff people tell that is no one's business. I have no time for it.

MURPHY:
[87] Are people swayed too easily by hearsay?

ADAMS:
[88] Yes .

MURPHY:
[89] How about people who use others for personal gain?

ADAMS:
[90] They suck!

MURPHY:
[91] Hypocrites?

ADAMS:
[92] Someone who says one thing and does something else entirely different.

MURPHY:
[93] Doughnut?

ADAMS:
[94] Glazed

MURPHY:
[95] Best writing just flow? Or Rewrite?

ADAMS:
[96] Most of my stories just flow. Out of all my stories, I did one major rewrite.

MURPHY:
[97] What part of writing do you most enjoy?

ADAMS:
[98] Coming up with a new story and working on the outline.

MURPHY:
[99] How often do you think about a piece? When?

ADAMS:
[100] When I'm in the middle of a piece, I think about it constantly. I'm like a dog with a bone, I can't put it down. Every spare moment is on that piece.

MURPHY:
[101] Name five things about your bedroom.

ADAMS:
[102] My computer, it's the first thing one has to see. My bookcases full of books on religion. Tons of videotapes. Tons of soft rock/pop CD's. My 'shrine' to Gabrielle.

MURPHY:
[103] Is the writing or you in control?

ADAMS:
[104] It all depends. The "Sin series", the "Deal series", and the Love stories are where the Muse was definitely in control. The other stories, I tried to keep in control. Mostly because I was writing about stuff I'm not real familiar with. On the other hand, some of my characters have definitely taken a life of their own, for instance Sophia has gain a following of her own, hence I'm writing stories that focus on her and that have very little involvement with Xena and Gabrielle.

MURPHY:
[105] What's a Muse?

ADAMS:
[106] A muse is something that compels me to write. Sometimes it's a feeling, sometimes it's an ache that won't go away.

MURPHY:
[107] Are you in your top five favorite writers?

ADAMS:
[108] No. In fact, I've never read any of my stories after they are posted, at least not until lately. But I'm still not in my top five. T. Novan, C.N. Winters, L.N. James, Katelin, and whoever wrote "Beyond and Forever" and "Building Our World" series, make up my top 5. I think there are so many better writers out there. But that's just my humble opinion.

MURPHY:
[109] Women in charge?

ADAMS:
[110] The world would definitely be different. Better? Probably not, just different kinds of problems.

MURPHY:
[111] Favorite spot where you live now.

ADAMS:
[112] My room

MURPHY:
[113] Books?

ADAMS:
[114] "What does the Bible Really Say about Homosexuality?" I'm starting a bible/book study about this subject, so I'm reading a whole lot about it.

MURPHY:
[115] Your worst trait according to your friends?

ADAMS:
[116] My need to debate and play Devil's Advocate, also the way I keep everyone at arms' length until I get to really know them.

ADAMS:
[118] Yes

MURPHY:
[119] Longest time with a plant?

ADAMS:
[130] I have two: Athena and Aphrodite. I've come to like Ares, mostly because of Xena.

[132] Because it's easy.

MURPHY:
[133] Diary?

ADAMS:
[134] No. But I plan to start on someday.

MURPHY:
[135] Online writing and its affects?

ADAMS:
[136] I realized I had a gift that I didn't know about, and that I have something to say. Also, it has given me the confidence to try other things.

MURPHY:
[137] Skill I want?

ADAMS:
[138] The ability to be charming from the moment someone lays eyes on me.

MURPHY:
[139] Real Life Hero?

ADAMS:
[140] Martin Luther King Jr. because he had a dream for ALL people and tried to make it come true regardless of the danger to himself and his family.

MURPHY:
[141] What fan fiction has touched you?

ADAMS:
[142] "Beyond and Forever" by Pallas. I've read that story at least ten times, and I still cry to this day when I think about it. That's the emotional response that the Xena finale should have pulled from me.

MURPHY:
[143] Climate choice?

ADAMS:
[144] Hot, hot, blazing Hot!

MURPHY:
[145] First thing you notice when you meet someone for the first time.

[149] On fun stuff: arcade, comic books, CDs.

MURPHY:
[152] Character identified with as a child?

ADAMS:
[153] Donald Duck.

[154] Source of Inspiration?

ADAMS:
[155] God, Hope, and the belief that love can conquer all, and that one day I'll find my true soulmate.

MURPHY:
[156] Ideas?

ADAMS:
[157] From Hopes and Dreams, and painful experiences.

MURPHY:

ADAMS:
[159] Teaching kids that they don't have to follow "tradition," to be true to themselves and to God.

MURPHY:
[160] Three favorite things about writing?

ADAMS:
[161] Lets me get things off my chest. Lets me deal with my demons. Lets me dream.

MURPHY:
[162] Favorite Book/TV/Movie as teen?

ADAMS:
[163] I Am the Cheese. I was a very disturbed teen. TV- Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future: mostly because of Jessica Steen. Still think Jessica is hot. Movie- West Side Story. Still the greatest movie/musical ever made. Natalie Woods was an amazing actor.

MURPHY:
[164] What would make a perfect world?

ADAMS:
[165] Love, peace, plenty of food for all and in places where everyone can get it, and rock-n-roll. Sorry no drugs!

MURPHY:
[166] Do you consider your fiction real?

ADAMS:
[167] Pretty real. I have an overactive imagination.

MURPHY:
[178] What questions would you ask your favorite author and why?

ADAMS:
[179] After I recover from fainting, drooling, and making a complete idiot of myself, I would ask Gabrielle.... Oh you mean a real life author? I would ask Oscar Wilde and Edgar Allen Poe what inspired them and if they could, would they do it again? I just want to know what made them tick.

MURPHY:
[180] What makes a great kisser?

ADAMS:
[181] Someone who takes their time, one who uses their whole mouth instead of relying so much on tongue.

MURPHY:

ADAMS:
[187] A day where one doesn't learn is a day wasted.

MURPHY:
[188] Things writers take too seriously?

ADAMS:
