SYNOPSIS:

Synopsis by Liz Sheppard.

Alcmene visits her son Hercules and Iolaus fighting bad people in a tavern. During the fight scene, she tells him that she's getting married to Jason of the Argonauts.

Jason has a meeting with Patronius, who tells him that if he marries Alcmene, he will no longer be king of Corinth because she isn't royal. He gets to name his successor. He meets up with Herc, Alcmene, and Iolaus in the street. Herc doesn't want to accept Jason's marriage to his mother. Patronius gets a visit from the Blue Priest (that's his name, honest. I'm going to call him BP). BP talks about how Herc killed him before and that Hera likes the marriage because it could lead to Herc's death.

Alcmene is shopping for fabric for her wedding dress when a woman named Sera tells her about a place for the wedding to take place. Herc and Iolaus run into Phoebe, Archivas, and Domesticles who tell them that Jason is giving up his throne for Alcmene, which impresses Herc. Jason wants Hercules to be the new king of Corinth, but he declines. Jason sends Iolaus to go find the next runner up. On the road, he runs into Falafel selling tacos to Dirce. Sparks fly between Iolaus and Dirce and they run to find the successor together. Falafel goes to the wedding to cater it.

BP and Patronius organize an army of a bunch of dead bad people that only want to kill Hercules to be waiters for the wedding. Sera takes Alcmene, Jason, and Herc to a beautiful pool area near the ocean. Sera freaks out when she finds out that Herc is Herc; and Alcmene starts planning Herc and Sera's wedding. They run into trouble, but they win the fight because they are the heros. Alcmene even kicks booty in this fight. Herc is greeted by the daughters of Thespius when he gets back to town.

PB is standing by the pool overlooking the ocean and, I assume, praying to Hera and talking to a really big serpant in the ocean. Patronius is worried that things aren't going as planned, but Sera shows up saying everything is going right because Hera is helping them. Just then the big serpant comes out of the water.

Deric the centaur shows up and believes he's seen Sera before, but can't place it. Jason and Alcmene get a really weird wedding present from Salmoneus. Sal can't come because he's doing business in Athens.

The wedding begins. Jason reveals the new king, Iphicles, brother of Hercules. Iph and Rena show up and he accepts the crown. Deric finally remembers who Sera is and tells Herc that she's a spy of Hera's. The serpant comes out of the ocean and the waiters attack everybody. Jason gets swallowed by the serpant and Hercules jumps in too. They eventually reach the spinal column and using Sal's wedding gift, killed it from the inside. BP, thinking that Hera will protect him, decides to jump off the cliff, making a blue mess all over the rocks; Patronius gets killed too.

Jason and Alcmene finally get married and Salmoneus finally shows up.

TALES OF THE HERCAVERSE

01-06-99. This episode is an homage of HERCULES AND THE LOST KINGDOM, with its recycling of the monster, the Blue Priest, and how Hercules defeats it.

01-06-99. From Liz Sheppard. The costumes were done very poorly, particluarly Deric's costume. Before, in the other centaur episodes, the costumes were done very well, but in this one, it was awful. You could see wrinkles in the costume; and in the fight scene, I could see...he was wearing shorts...hey, I may have looked up a centaurs skirt, but I'm not a pervert. Also, when Alcmene received the present from Salmoneus, she made a comment that she always thought his name was pronounced "Salmanela"-hint hint, Men in Pink.
