SYNOPSIS:

Synopsis by Liz Sheppard.

Do you want to hear Herc and Iolaus with fwench accents? How about seeing Ephany in a big pink dress? Well now's your chance! Please forgive my attempts at writing in a Fwench accent, but it had to be done.

Ze year is 1789 aund ah coach rides by. Two people, Lady Marie(Ephany) and Francois(Sal) are in it, flirting. Francois hands Marie ah yellow rose, ze calling card of Ze Chartreuse Faux. Capitan Gerrard stops ze coach, looking for Ze Chartreuse Faux; but Marie fools him in zinking she was with her fazer. Francois talks about making pesaunts into heroes, aund Marie makes a bet zat he could do it. When zey flirt some more, my my, two "highway men" come by demaunding monei. Ze two men are Robert(Hercules) aund Jean Pierre(Iolaus).

Robert aund Jean Pierre are tied up while Marie aund Francois talk about ze Anceaunt Greeks, aund ze lengundary journies of Hercule. Up pops lots aund lots of clips previous eps of Herclues. There's even a clip of Xena(hehe). This ep is kind of like The Xena Scrolls, only French. Meanwhile, Capitan Gerrard is still hunting down Ze Faux. He swears zat he will kill him.

Ze four fwench people are walking around ze town, looking for somezing to eat. Zey run into Croissant (Falafel), selling icky food. More faush backs of Hercule pop up, but when zey are over, disauster strikes. Ze piggies come looking for Ze Faux. Robert aund Jean Pierre beat zem up with fishes(hehe),but zey end up hiding in barrules.

At dinner, Robert aund Jean Pierre demaund monei before zey become heroes. Marie goes to her coach to her a bag. Jean Pierre, Robert, aund Francois are very pleased in zemselves because zey convinced her zat Francois was Ze Faux. She comes back with a broach. Robert will become a hero for zey lady, aund Francois talks about love aund aund Serena, ze laust of zey Goulden Hinds(Hind trilogy clips pop up).

Ze piggies show up aund Marie hides ze men in a truck until it's safe. Once ze guys get out of ze trunk, zey find zeir monei is gone aund a yellow rose on ze table.

Marie zinks she haus a clean get away, playing with Francois' monei, but Capitan Gerrard stops her aund places her under arrest.

Ze trio is watching Marie when she's about to get sent to be beheaded; she preaches before he goes. Vive la Fraunce. Vive la revolution! Robert convinces ze ozers zat zey should help her. Zey do. Big long fwench fight scene zats in every Herc ep breaks out. Robert saves Marie, several times, aund when he frees her, she kisses his cheeks. *le smooch* Marie haus her dual with Capitan Gerrard, leaving his undies shown with a fellow rose in his shirt.

Ze men decide to join Marie, Ze Faux, for her journies. Zey leave us trying to zink of a name for zem -ze powerful rangers-hehe.

TALES OF THE HERCAVERSE

01-12-99. Danielle Cormack at the Burbank II (01/98):

  • Her first convention question was about whether or not she found it difficult to do various accents, such as an American accent when playing Ephiny, or a French accent as when she played the Chartreuse Fox. She said as an actor, such things are expected, and it's part of those skills she works on.

  • Another person said that while she likes Ephiny, she really liked Danielle as the Chartreuse Fox on HERCULES. She asked if everyone had to work hard to get their accents "that bad". Danielle pause, smiled, and said. "Yes." She went on to say that they had to speak in such a way that they would be understood in different parts of the world, so they had to consider being intelligible as more weighty than being accurate. If anything, the accents were modeled on a British comedy called "'Allo 'Allo", which took place in German-occupied France during World War II.

  • In response to a question as to what was her favourite episode of HERC or XENA, Danielle responded "This is where you should get your rotten tomatoes and cabbages out. I have yet to see a full episode of XENA or HERCULES." The audience laughed and cheered. But the favourite episode she had done was LES CONTEMPTIBLES on HERCULES, where she played the Chartreuse Fox. She said this was because she had a lot to do in it, and she liked the unusual costumes and setting. HOOVES AND HARLOTS was her favourite XENA episode to do.
  • 01-12-99. Though he speaks French, when someone complained that they thought his French accent sounded "fake" at the Burbank II (01/98) convention, Robert Trebor reacted in mock indignation. He stated that he does speak French, and he was not using a fake accent in "Les Contempibles". He said, "Je parle Français et je comprend Français" (I speak French and I understand French). He also said he'd been on the soap opera, "As the World Turns", years ago playing a French concierge.

01-12-99. From Corinne Heller. "Les Contemptables" is a hilarious "Les Miserables" parody. Danielle Cormack playing a female Jean Valjean was a riot! I'm surprised the gang and Falafel didn't all burst into an a capella version of "Can You Hear The People Sing?"...

01-12-99. From Sal_Fan. There are several Xenaesque clips in LES CONTEMPTIBLES, including one from "The Gauntlet" and another from "The King of Thieves".

01-12-99. From Kent Simmons. My From Cupcake: The carriage was seen in HTLJ's "Les Contemtibles" and "Long Live the King". It was also seen in XWP's "The Furies" on the outside of the Asylum.
