Hercules continues talking to Odin, and learns that the third part of the prophecy involves darkness. Hercules frees Thor from his exile-in-chains, per the request of the wife of Odin. Loki creates a mask and tricks Odin into wearing it; it blinds the old god (this is the darkness). Loki blows on a horn and all of Asguard ices over. He burns down the Viking hall where all the people are. Thor sends Hercules to Asguard to see about Odin while he goes to save all the people. Loki kills Thor with the poison dart. Hercules finds Odin and wife barely alive; he leaves them and goes back to help Thor. Odin and wife die. Hercules learns that the Norn book of fate only records the past and the present, and that Loki painted the pages with the "future" on them. Hercules fights Loki and wins. He repaints the page where Balder died, and he is back at the scene where he killed Balder. This time he doesn't kill Balder, and everyone lives happily ever after.

TALES OF THE HERCAVERSE
01-07-99a. The following is an excerpt from a transcript of the Hollywood Spotlight (RealHollywood) chat on 12/09/98 with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci:
Geminia asks "We've noticed some take offs of popular movies and now in 'Rainbow Bridge' Loki says 'I hate it when a plan falls apart'...take off on A-team?"
Alex/Bob says "A: Cool name. B: No, I don't think it was .. but good catch. That was written by one of our new writers who's fantastic so maybe we can get him on the net and he'll answer that question. Maybe he had that in mind when he wrote that episode?"
