COMMENTARY

This commentary is by Beboman.

This is a new one for me. I liked some of Tia Carrere's work, so when I came upon her television program, I was intrigue to see what it was all about. I have watched several of the episodes and I have liked what I have seen so far.

M. I. A. is a clip episode that gives the audience an idea of what some of the other episodes have been like. It provides the newcomer (like me) a bit of background information on some of Sydney's past adventures. It is like bait for the audience so they can get hooked and watch the series. Well, I'll have to admit that I have been hooked; I'm looking forward to future shows.

From what I have been able to ascertain in the previous episodes I watched, the show started with a historical time and a relic which had, by some means, been lost or misplaced. So when this episode opened and showed the Faberge Egg, I thought it had something to do with the search for the egg, but it ended up being the search for Sydney. This was a good trick. Kudos to the writers.

So basically, I gathered from the clips that Sydney is a strong, adventurous, intelligent, sexy, beautiful, confident woman. She has control of her life and she loves adventures. Sydney is not an immature, juvenile woman; she is a mature woman. It could be said that she is like a modern day female version of Indiana Jones.

Sydney has an assistant named Nigel, who serves as companion, but acts as her comic relief in some cases. Then there is Claudia, the office administrator. She is capable and confident, but is also sometimes used as comic relief. Together they get in and out of some hot situations and provide a very interesting mixture.

Sydney, like any true hero or heroine has a nifty weapon that is uniquely hers; a small multipurpose cross bow. (I really like this weapon and want one for myself.) But Sydney's greatest weapon is her knowledge and her deductive ability.

This show has all the ingredients to make a good series. It has talent, action, intrigue and a beautiful, sexy woman. The show is entertaining and has a touch of humor all mixed together quite well. It should make for some really good episodes.
