COMMENTARY

This commentary is by Beboman.

Not a bad episode. Loved the description that Nigel gave of Kajina. He said she was a Warrior Princess, beautiful, courageous, capable of leading her people to victory. It reminded me of another Warrior Princess.

This was not a bad episode. It had a flavor close to an Indiana Jones film. The infiltration into the enemy camp where the dig was taking place, getting the information and going on, just Sydney and Tobar, to look for the mystical saddle, finding the cave and the snakes. All of it had a real Indiana Jones flavor to it that made it feel good.

It seems that Nigel can't ever learn; he always falls for the pretty girl. In this case, she was not as bad as she seemed to be in the beginning. On the other hand, Sydney also falls for the handsome one in this episode. That puts both Nigel and Sydney on what could be two different sides of right.

I found it amazing how well Nigel stood up to being almost torn to pieces by Sarcan, the bad guy.

Now that I have stated what I really liked about the episode, let me just say a few things that bothered me. First, I would advise the actress that played Kajina/Jaia to take a few more acting lessons. She was very pretty, but lacked a bit on the acting side. The same goes for the actor who played Sarcan. Maybe a few more acting classes would not hurt.

For the rest, this was not a bad episode. It had some good moments and the chemistry between Sydney and Tobar was really good. I was glad that they were on camera more than Jaia. In general, this was an entertaining episode.

ON THE HUNT

04/17/02. Some sweeps highlights. Look for Omid Djalili ("The Mummy", "Gladiator") as a wise-cracking guide who may be leading Syd and Nigel down the garden path on the hunt for "Pandora's Box". Nigel falls for a six hundred year old Princess in one called "The Warlord" and later, Preston Bailey returns to the Relic Hunter fold in the episode "Fountain of Youth". Then, in "So Shall it Be", Syd and Nigel take on their old nemesis Fabrice DaVeiga, while racing the Gural Nataz to a druid relic.
