TV GUIDE PROMO
Forsaking his friends, Hercules teams up with his newfound half-brothers Pollux and Castor to compete against Jason, Iolaus, and Lilith in the last gymkhana relay race that Jason will ever run. The race is very important to Jason, so when Pollux cheats to win, Jason hastily agrees to settle the dispute in the deadly pancration competition (an Ultimate Fighting-esque bout). With broken ribs and a half-god opponent, odds are against Jasonís victory.
This synopsis is by Deb Roche
Jason, Herc, Iolaus, and Lilith go to Corinth for THE GAMES. They are competing. Jason comments to Herc that this is the last year he'll be partaking in the games because next year he will be king.
Herc tries to stop a bully fellow competitor, Pollux, from picking on someone and discovers that Pollux and his brother Castor are also his half-brothers since they share the same father -- ZEUS.
Herc tries to bond with his new brothers and in the process alienates his friends.
Castor & Pollox ask Herc to join them in the upcoming race. Herc says he is running with Jason & Iolaus. Pollux gives Herc a line about how if the sons of Zeus join together they'll be unstoppable. Herc buys in and ditches his friends.
But, when Pollox cheats by injuring Jason during the race, Herc must decide whose side he's on. Herc sides with Jason and decides to teach Pollox a lesson.
In the end our guys are friends again, and Castor and Pollux leave.
Godly appearences: none
Godly mentions: Zeus
Mythological appearances: Castor & Pollux
Mythology NOTES: Castor and Pollox were twin brothers. Sons of Leda & king Tyndareus of Sparta. To entice Leda, Zeus tuned himself into a swan. The twins had two sisters, Helen and Clytemnestra. Pollux and Helen were offspring of Zeus, while Castor & Clytemnestra were the offspring of Tyndareus. All four were destined for fame. Castor became an excellant horseman; Pollux became an excellant boxer; Helen became Helen of Troy; Clytemnestra became the wife of Agamemmon and mother of Orestes. The brothers joined the Argonauts in the Quest for the fleece and were in the Calydonian boar hunt. When the twins, Castor & Pollux died they were placed in the heavens as Gemini.
HTLJ Notes: In the episode "ONCE A HERO", Castor and Pollux are part of the Argonaut reunion and help Jason retrieve the fleece. Only Pollox tries to claim it as his own.
