SUE BARNES Sue Barnes
Editor, On the Road
What's to say about me? I was born and raised in the South West of England, although I've been living in the north (Yorkshire, to be precise) since 1985. I graduated from the University of York with a BA (Hons) in English and Education, which left me with nothing much beyond an enduring passion for Victorian sensation fiction (adultery, bigamy, murder....just your usual women behaving badly, really!)
Having spent far too long bumming around the voluntary sector, either volunteering or being paid so badly I may as well have been a volunteer, three years ago I decided to grow up and get a real job. So I now work as a Community Accountancy Worker in the beautiful Yorkshire city of Sheffield, helping local voluntary groups with their book-keeping, although my home (aka Xena shrine) is in the other beautiful Yorkshire city of Leeds (hence LeedsBard.)
I've been a Xena fan since season one, and a convention fan since the day I decided if I didn't go to Pasadena in 2001 I'd regret it for the rest of my life! There's just something about coming together with other fans to share the passion.

Xiomara Suro (Beboman) was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She retired from the military and a ten-year stint as a Coast Guard Special Agent and went to hide in Nevada and worked for a time in a casino, in the surveillance department. After a few years of watching others playing, she decided that was no fun, so she left the casino life behind. Now she just works on writing short stories, poetry and trying to get her romance novel published. She also enjoys taking long motorcycles rides in the company of her husband "Wolfman". Trying to make sense of things Spice C.R.
Editor, Sequence of XWP Episodes
CR is an engineer living in Auckland, New Zealand, who prefers to remain pseudonymous. His interests include cars, trains (especially steam), and maps (which is why the map in THE DEBT had an irresistible attraction for him). He likes playing 'spot-the-scenery' in HTLJ and XWP, with limited success. He was a casual viewer of HTLJ and XWP until GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN and the Callisto episodes got him hooked (he is now catching up on re-runs). And, before you ask, he has never met any of the cast or crew of XWP, though he thinks one of the extras looks vaguely familiar.

Assistant editor
A forty-something Midwesterner who has yet to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up. So far an alarming pattern of involvement in activities which have absolutely no connection to one another has developed: a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, a day job as a programmer-analyst in the financial services area for 20+ years, and currently moonlighting as an English/Professional Writing student at night. The journey continues. Cathy is very sure, however, about her love for the one-of-a-kind series Xena: Warrior Princess, noting that she's a sucker for any show with a colon in the title.

BA in theatre, MA in theatre and film, PhD in theatre. (Her fascination with XWP actually began as a dissertation avoidance measure.)
Her XENA obsession actually began as a dissertation avoidance measure. She finally knuckled down and became "Dr. Darise" in May 2000, but, alas, presently there seems to be as much demand for tenure-track theatre professors in academe as there was for cohesive characterization insurers at Ren Pic during XENA's 3rd-5th seasons. Oh, well. At least it will say "Ph.D." on her tombstone (and it will probably take her that long to pay off her student loans!) She collects autographs and entertainment memorabilia, and she shares her life with four beloved friends of the four-footed & furry or feathered variety
Favorite XWP episodes: HOOVES AND HARLOTS (10/110), A DAY IN THE LIFE (39/215), BEEN THERE, DONE THAT (48/302), A GOOD DAY (73/405); and the "Rheingold Trilogy" [THE RHEINGOLD (119/607), THE RING (120/608), and THE RETURN OF THE VALKYRIE (121/609)]

General Meandering

Once there came into the world a fledging lil geekling - who wandered the world over and meandered here and there and there and here. Until lo - one day - she - now a full fledged GeekGrrl - found the fledgling Xenaverse and discovered - to her endless delight a site call International Association for Xena Studies and their publication Whoosh. "Magnificently Kewl" she thought and promptly volunteered (or was swayed by the editor I can't remember how the story goes) to become a staffer. Filippa was born to a lost tribe of Amazons in Croatia, who conveniently gave her for adoption to a loving family in North Carolina. She was a Department of Defense brat who spent most of her childhood in the West and later five years in Germany. In high school she loved basketball, horseback riding, art, and English, but found her true calling as a writer of fiction. When she ran off to college, someone introduced her to the world of "Xena: Warrior Princess." Currently, she lives in Nashville. Outside of the office, she is often spotted at the Columbus Zoo, where she volunteers as a docent. This usually involves answering the question "Where's the bathroom?", although she gets breaks from that long enough to talk about the animals and help the keepers. Relic Hunting Spice Lady Jane Gray
Reviewer, Episode Guide
Lady Jane Gray became a XWP fan the moment she saw that athletic young woman riding along a beach. She adopted the LJG pseudonym after injudiciously asking "What the #%$@ is a merewolf?" After a dubious attempt at fan fic, she returned to her first love, collecting Sabatini photos. She enjoys history, archaeology, anthropology, literature and is something of a snob. Active pursuits include tennis, sarcasm and innuendo. Although she is a professor at a major University, she really would prefer to be Sydney Fox. Her partner is a counseling psychologist, and the two live in Austin, TX, with their four imaginary children. They enjoy travel and want to show each other around Tokyo and Sydney, respectively. Lady Jane is still hopelessly in love, even after ten years.
Favorite XWP episodes: For clarity of vision and integrity: Sins of the Past. For drama, Adventures In the Sin Trade.

Tricia lives in the Willamette Valley of Oregon with her husband, two daughters, 4 cats, a cockateil, and a box turtle. She works for a large company in the photography business where she makes 8by10 and specialty portraits during the day. Evenings and weekends she is a Beta Tester and website creater for upcoming game titles by Microsoft. She and her family are movie fanatics and have finally upgraded themselves from VHS to DVD. She'd not only like to see a Xena movie made, but she'd like to see it on DVD with behind the scenes footage, cast and crew interviews, and extra goodies. In fact, she'd like to see it NOW, thank you.

Favorite episode: BITTER SUITE (58/312) There wasn't a single thing I didn't like about this episode! I want more like it!
Favorite line: It would be too difficult for her to list her favorite line from XWP, as there are too many. (Basically, she has a decision-making impairment. Yet, she does find herself laughing quite often during any episode with Salmoneus or Joxer.)

I'm Jeff Jenkins, more commonly known as XWP1113@hotmail.com. I attend Annandale High School, and I'm also an 18-year old member of the Class of 1999. My hobby is playing euphonium (question, e-mail me and I'll set your straight) in the school Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and playing in Virginia's All-District 10 Band for the third consecutive year (do I sense a trend?). Outside of school, I do fountain work (ice cream) at Friendly's. (Troy, Ohio has our western-most store, and to us is the West coast.) In spare time, I read Stephen King novels, listen to same-said novels on audiocassette, try to learn HTML, and watch Xena and Hercules.

Highest Ranking Non-Commissioned Officer
I live in Pennsylvania because I have a thing for mountains and fresh air. I'm 29 years old (30 is coming up fast though) and am currently self-employed. I use to work in retail until a injury to my knee. I now spend most of my time working on computers, doing desktop publishing and web page design from my home. My career goal was to become a film director, a sociologist or a spy for the CIA. None seem likely at the moment.
When I'm not working on my web page or doing something else Xena related (which is not often), I can be found in front of the television cheering onthe WNBA, especially the NY Liberty. I'm very involved in politics. I am a huge history buff and will study any period of history. I am a believer in reincarnation and think I'm always searching for places and times I there for. I have a strange fascination with vampires and spies. I am an avid reader, though most of what I have read since becoming a Xenite is fan fiction. I also love to write, but I haven't yet posted any Xena fan fiction. I have often said that my alter-ego is a warrior, but I have the heart and soul of a bard.
I have been a Xenite since the third episode of the show. As anyone who has visited my web site knows, I love Xena's darkside. It is what got me interested in the show and keeps me watching.
Favorite episode: Any episode which shows Xena's darkside but my all time favs are: SINS OF THE PAST (01/101), DESTINY (36/212), THE RECKONING (06/106), and THE DEBT (52-53/306-307)
Favorite line: It's a tie! Xena: "First thing is that a sword is not a staff" RETURN OF CALLISTO (29/205); Xena: "Tell Hades to prepare himself. A new Xena is born tonight. With a new purpose in life...Death!" DESTINY (36/212)

Interviewer
August Krickel is the real name, believe it or not, of a native South Carolinian who is often seen on the net as "Joxerfan." A fan of mythology since reading a comic book version of the Iliad as a little boy, August went on to study Classics at Vanderbilt U., at the U. of Georgia, and the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, and currently works in university administration. Over the past 20 years, however, he has had a second career as free-lance actor, director, and drama critic, working/studying with Oscar winners Ben Kingsley and Delbert Mann, and appearing most recently as the narrator of the touring WWII-themed stage show, "The Road to Victory." This double interest in myth and drama has made XWP his favorite show, and he's honored to make his debut in Whoosh!

She eventually moved to San Francisco to become a therapist but instead ended up working in the printing industry as a typesetter. After years of working in back rooms with computers, a virtual hermit, almost a misanthrope, she bought a TV, found XENA and is now a much friendlier but obsessive XENA fan, using her missionary skills to convert new Xenites.

Reviewer, episode guide
An avid Xena fan, I found Whoosh! on the Internet and followed the episode banter weekly among all of us fans and enjoyed Xena down to the very last scene of Friend In Need II. A fan also of Steven L. Sears, I was intrigued when I heard about his reviving Sheena and volunteered to write synopsis and commentary for the show. I'm a 9-1-1 operator/police-fire dispatcher by day and write for a hobby by night. I've written several short stories, one novella and a batch of screenplays over the last few years and while I still have interest in writing, my attention has turned to doing voice-over work. I've been behind the microphone for years with emergency services, I look forward now to being behind the microphone and having fun!

Busy Spice Jacquie Propps
Production Assistant
Jacquie spends most of her time learning the art of Dorian rhythm gymnastics. Somehow she escaped her childhood in Cucamonga , California. She fled to the Bay Area, and subsequently earned an BA in Broadcast Communication Arts at SF State. (Folks, 6th Floor Merced rocked!) Currently, she shares a three bedroom house on an acre in the Oakland hills with her life- partner, Rebecca, who's starting to get a bit tired of Jacq 's obsession. Real Work (c'mon -- how can anything that's non-XWP-related be real?) happens at a Country format radio station in San Francisco. Yes, she loves the music -- the more twang, the better! In addition to writing radio copy, Jacquie welcomes other creative writing challenges. She still has the Dixie Cup, but Rebecca doesn't let her wear it outside of the house.

Amazed by her fervent Xena addiction, Diane Silver was once a serious sort who would have scoffed at the idea of a whoosh or a chakram cam. Today, she loves them. Silver has been a professional writer for more than 20 years, including stints at United Press International and The Wichita Eagle. She once took a brief detour into politics, working as press secretary for a Democratic candidate for Kansas governor. Currently an editor for a nonprofit foundation, Silver is also pursuing a freelance writing career. Her second book, The New Civil War: The Lesbian and Gay Struggle for Civil Rights, will be published by Franklin Watts in 1997. She is at work on her third book, a memoir called Sacred Moments: The Journey of a Lesbian Marriage. Her work has also appeared in national publications, including Ms. magazine. A graduate of Michigan State University (Hi there, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert), Silver shamefully admits to never having been much of a Spartan sports fan. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas, with her son, dog and two cats. A recent convert to the Internet, she posts on the mailing lists as Silver and on the NetForum as Freedom2.

I go by the nickname HBKid on the internet. I am currently in college and studying the wide world of writing and broadcasting. My goal is to get into broadcasting and or writing/directing for tv and or movies. I am a very big fan of XWP and HTLJ. I have expecially enjoyed the new season [fifth] of HTLJ. The worldtour storyline has brought much interest to the new season. I have a very large Herc and Xena site, which now also features Young Hercules staff. Its the Hercules and Xena World Order. I also like to play basketball, baseball, and than relax on the couch. I have a special woman in my life and who knows what may come very soon ?! One of my non H/X projects on the net is a Fan Fiction Project for the now cancelled Adventures of Sinbad series. Its a FanFiction third season, which combines the action and fantasy with more darker, dramatic, and intense storylines. It's hard work but enjoyable work. I have a team of about 10 other fans, all Herc and Xena fans too, and we hope to do the same thing if H and X go one day, which will hopefully never happen. I am also good at cooking, fixing cars, and in boxing.
