Maggie and Bianca discuss Lena (No Lena)

When Bianca asks if they’re back together, Maggie admits that’s what he wants. She used to want him, but now she’s not sure, “But he gave one h*** of a pitch!” Bianca guesses he wants to prove to her that she can still trust him and their love will be stronger than ever; she agrees that Lena gave her the same speech. Maggie says Henry's really determined to make it up to her, and even showed up at Leora’s funeral today. Bianca tells her Lena showed up and gave blood, despite her needle phobia. Maggie wonders if they do a good deed, and they’re supposed to forget they screwed them over? Bianca muses that, on the other hand, if they really do love them, are they supposed to throw it all away because of one mistake? Maggie asks if she still loves Lena? Bianca asks if she still loves Henry?” Maggie’s question is, “Can you still love someone if you don't trust them?” Bianca says Greenlee figured it out—she just kept her heart open, “I asked her how she knew when she could trust Leo again. She said she just knew.” Maggie doesn’t think she can trust herself enough to make that call; she thought she cut Henry loose until he showed up and planted a kiss on her! Bianca argues there’s nothing wrong with a kiss. Maggie agrees, “Yeah, except Henry wanted to cover all the bases, like sex could fix everything.” Binks notes that it can sure help! Maggie wonders, if Lena just walked in right now would Bianca just forgive her? Bianca admits at this point, she’s not letting her close enough to try; she just keeps telling herself that she should walk away. Maggie sighs that would be easy except for one thing—the sex is so awesome, “It would be easy if it sucked, right?” Bianca says she’s so busted—she knows it’s so much more than the sex! She cites Henry writing those love songs for Maggie, and Lena looking into her eyes like they have a secret from the rest of the world, adding that she doesn’t want to give that up, and knows Maggie doesn’t, either. Bianca thinks they should keep their hearts open, and wait for that moment. Maggie just doesn’t see it, and wonders if love gets easier with practice? Bianca tells her, “Judging from my mother’s life, it never gets easier.”

Maggie hangs out at the boathouse. D***, I thought (hoped is more like it) that they’d burned that set. Bianca arrives where she and Maggie exchange condolences for each others’ dire circumstances. They talk about their screwed up love lives. They dare to compare Lena to Henry? It’s especially preposterous when it’s blatantly obvious that it’s only Maggie’s southern hemisphere that really wants him...

TODAY ON AMC:

The Boathouse - It’s the Bianca and Maggie hour.

Maggie: "Oh, I heard about your Uncle Jack: how is he?"

Yeah, let me interrupt this fuzzy moment and ask why it is that Maggie never showed up to give blood and why was Bianca not at Leora's funeral? These girls are friends, right?

Bianca: "Oh, god: I'm sorry about Leora. I know her funeral was today."

Do we need to get Clinton out of retirement to actually have them feel their own pain?

Maggie: "It should be about that, but no. I should be ranting and raving to god about taking a baby away but I can't sleep because of a guy."
Bianca: "Because of Henry?"

Don't choke on the name or anything!

Maggie: "He came to see me tonight."
Bianca: "Wow, after he was so spineless? What, did he slither under the door?"

Are you talking about Lena again?

Maggie: "He got expelled. Even worse, well, for him anyway, his mom is not speaking to him."

All I have to say is that "got" not only isn't a real word, but it certainly is not a verb.

Bianca: "Are you guys back together again?"
Maggie: "That's what he wants."
Bianca: "What do you want?"

You know Binks, considering you don't know what the h*** you want with Lena, asking Maggie that question is so not appropriate and, more importantly, makes me cranky.

Maggie: "I used to want him, but I'm not sure. Now I don't know, you know, but he gave one hell of a pitch."
Bianca: "Let me guess: he wants to prove to you that you can still trust him, that your love will be stronger than ever."

Ugh, Bianca: you make me so tired.

Maggie: "Henry is really determined to make it up to me. He even showed up at Leora's funeral today."
Bianca: "Yeah well, Lena showed up and gave blood despite her needle phobia."

Aww, your lives are parallels. How precious. Meh. Of course, this is AMC's way of letting us know they are down with The Gay Factor because All Jilted Lovers Are The Same.

Maggie: "This may sound crazy, but I thought the man that I love should come in, sweep me off my feet and slay the dragon."

Well Maggie, that only sounds crazy 'cause you said man.

Bianca: "Well, talk about crazy: I thought it was me and Lena against the world. It turns out it's me and Lena and Michael Cambias and Boyd and anybody else that she can use to get what she wants."

Maggie: "My question is, can you still love someone if you don't trust them?"

My question is, why can't you make your pronouns agree?

Bianca: "Greenlee figured it out."
Maggie: "Ok, great: what's the secret?"
Bianca: "There is no secret: she kept her heart open. I asked her how she knew when she could trust Leo again: she said she just knew."

Maggie sighs and I do, too, because, Binks, you left out the whole eyes thing. Considering Lena can be read like a book, that's a pretty pivotal detail.

Bianca: "There's nothing wrong with a kiss."
Maggie: "Yeah, except Henry wanted to cover all the bases, like sex can fix everything."
Bianca: "It can sure help."

Deadpan delivery: you're killing me.

Bianca: "I don't know. I just keep telling myself that I should just walk away."
Maggie: "Well, that would be easy if it wasn't for one thing."
Bianca: "What, that we're incurable romantics, that we're just suckers for love?"
Maggie: "No: the sex is so awesome."

With a guy? Are you sure? You’re not going to change your mind later, are you?

Maggie: "Well, come on: it would be easy if it sucked, right?
Bianca: "You are so busted Maggie. You know that it's so much more than the sex. I mean, come on: Henry writing those love songs for you, Lena looking into my eyes like we had a secret from the rest of the world..."

Greenlee: Why are you acting like this?
Carlos: The audience doesn't like me as the sensitive handyman, the romantic e-mailer, the blue collar artist or the dancing balladeer. Maybe they'll like me as the macho man.
Greenlee: I wouldn't count on it.
Carlos: Now do as Carlos say or Carlos get angry.
Greenlee: Please, get mad! Leave me here! Never speak to me again. I"ll get over it some how.
Carlos: That's not what your script says. You're supposed to say I'm cute when I'm mad, then go all gooey eyed about being trapped in here with me all night long.
Greenlee: I hope Lacey's sells rope. I'm going to hang myself.

Henry went to see Maggie.
Lizzie: All right. This is just too much. It's bad enough you make me watch Greenlee and Carlos, but putting Henry and Maggie in the same episode is just too much.
Maggie: At least you only have to watch this mess. I have to be in it.
Henry: I came to beg you to come back to me Maggie. Let's have sex.
Maggie: I can't just forgive you for everything you've done.
Henry: But I've lost everything. I got expelled from school and my mother has stricken my name from the family bible. Let's have sex.
Maggie: I think you should leave Henry. Frankly, I'm hoping to get into one of the good storylines and you're dragging me down.
Lizzie: You're dragging the whole episode down.

Later Maggie ran into Bianca at the boathouse.
Bianca: I guess you're here thinking about the death of your poor little baby cousin.
Maggie: Not really. I'm thinking about Henry.
Bianca: This storyline really has wrecked your character hasn't it?
Maggie: You know it. It's kind of ironic isn't it? Henry and I were supposed to be such a great romance. They built a college set and a restaurant set for us and everything. But our storyline was a total dud.
Bianca: Yeah, and I don't think Lena and I were meant to be long term at all but we've got this big fan base and a pretty good storyline going. Life just doesn't always work out the way you plan.

Over at the hospital Jack was in surgery.
Erica: Mary, are you still here? :::hiss:::: I'm surprised they can afford to pay you for another day's work.
Mary: I couldn't leave until I knew my darling Jack was better. :::grrrr:::: I'm sure he'd want me to be here.
Erica: Don't be silly. You're not his type at all. You're vain, shallow, superficial, and have a terrible relationship with your grown daughter. Jack would never look twice at that type of woman. :::hiss:::
Mary: Don't be so sure. You don't know everything where Jack is concerned. :::grrrr:::::
Joe: Jack is in recovery now Erica. You may go in and see him.
Erica: Oh Jack, I love you so much. You're the only man I ever really loved. I'll spend the rest of my life fighting off any woman who tries to come between us.
Jack: I'm glad she loves me. I just wish she didn't seem to love me the most when I'm unconcious.
Mary: Oh Jack. I"m so glad that dreadful Kane woman stepped out for a minute. I love you. You're to only man I ever really loved. I'm going to get you back. If only I had realized all those years ago that you were filthy rich and not the pool boy.
Jack: Hmmm, either I'm on some heavy drugs or she just said I used to be the pool boy. I always wondered what my back story was but I never suspected that.
Nurse: Maam, you have to leave now......Oh Jack, I've loved you from the moment I took your blood pressure for the first time. Those awful women don't deserve you. Let me take care of you. I know I can make you happy.
Jack: I wish I'd known this years ago. Being at death's door makes you a chick magnet.

Later Erica thought things over.
Reggie's voice: You knew about Jack and Mary?
Joe's voice: It's amazing that we found a donor. Jack's blood type is so rare.
Mary's voice: Donor's often turn out to be long lost children of old girlfriends.
Val's voice: You have a manicurist appointment at 7:30.

Bianca: Mom, do you want to go to the cafeteria? We could wait and get some coffee or something like that.
