Dear Jack Stiles (et al),
Thank you for your generous comments about "The Marquis". It was certainly one
of the more "out there" eps we did. The costume might have looked great but I
was in it for twelve hours and couldn't sit down. But it was worth it. The front
shots of the duel are me, the reverse shots are the stuntie. And yes, he
actually did the splits. It's been many years since I could do something like
that! "X Marquis The Spot" was one of my favourite eps, and also "Croquey in the
Pokey" where Jack and Croque fetch up in jail together. There was a lot of
improvisation with Bruce in that ep which was great fun.
I've just got home from performing in a new New Zealand play called "Serial
Killers". It's a fantastic new script by James Griffin, one of our most
experienced TV writers, and his first stage play. James has been a writer for
"Shortland Street" which some of you may know is NZ's leading TV serial. The
play is a comedy about what happens when a leading character is about to be
written out of the series, "Heart Of Hearts" and takes matters into his own
hands to stay in the show. We're having full houses and a great time.

Angie (Dotchen)has just finished filming a telemovie, "Lawless". She plays a
very different character from Emelia and, of course, is fantastic. Stephen
(Brogard) played a guest role as well.

Enjoy the last eps,

regards,

Stuart.
