The Gabberish Lexicon
-- Gabberwocky: A Universal Language for the 21st Century


Ab-Gab:
[See: gab-gab] A more shortened version of GAB-GAB, ie, "absolutely gabulous". However, ab-gab is used strictly as an adjective. When referring to GABchat the term gab-gab is always used instead.

Autobard:
The highway between Auckland and Sturges Road (site of the X:WP set).

Bardacious or ROCacious:
(1) Afflicted with a gabundance of words, as are Gabrielle and most Xenites; (2) Well-endowed.

Bardbarian:
Any storyteller with bad table manners. Proper usage: "Solon, you little bardbarian! Haven't I told you a thousand times never to tell stories with food in your mouth!"

Bardfbagger:
Sleazy individual from whom/what we wish to defend our Divine Poteidian; see Joxerocity for behavior of Bardfbagger.

Bard-headedness:
The extreme stubbornness only bards can exhibit.

Bardie Doll:
A doll that tells stories incessantly, unless you pull the string to stop it. Partial to pink chakrams and Vera Wang originals.

Bardimosity:
A hostility rarely expressed by the Bard, but notably so in the episode Ten Little Warlords.

Barditation Engineer:
A much classier title than Gabberish collector.

eGAB:
A softened or euphemistic oath.

Forced Gabstinence:
Skipping an episode of Xena: Warrior Princess for even the flimsiest of reasons, such as weddings, funerals or knee surgery. Prolonged periods of Forced Gabstinence can lead to a potentially fatal form of Gabsentia.

Gabacchae:
An obscure cult of disco-dancing vampires from Cleveland; also a name for the enforcement branch of Clan MacGab.

Gabacchanalia:
A festival or lively party held in honor of Gabrielle.

Gabacious:
Ravenous, as in "a Gabacious appetite".

Gabaconian:
An adherent or follower of Gabriellan (pacifist) philosophies.

Gabacus:
Pocket calculator with beads instead of batteries.

Gabalanche:
(1) To overwhelm; (2) A gathering of Gabfans, as in "A gabalanche of Gabfans descended upon the X:WP convention."

Gabalone:
Poteidain shellfish said to have inspired Botticelli's masterwork, "Venus Rising From the Halfshell".

Gabauche:
Tacky; lacking in the social graces.

Gabbag:
The pre-Hellenistic term for pig-in-a-poke; i.e., when you pay 1 dinar for a bag full of "treasures" worth at least 5 dinars.

Gabbaratus Criticus:
The collected notes of Dr. Covington's scholarly work on the Xena Scrolls.

Gabberflasted:
To be at a loss for comment; possibly never actually observed in the Beauteous Bard herself; also could be applied to any Gabfan overwhelmed by aspects of ROC and/or Gab herself.

Gabbervescence:
Unearthly perkiness eg, "She just got back from the XenaCon and was jumping all over, Gabbering on and on... What disgusting Gabbervescence". Also the ingredient in Salmoneous Fizz.

Gabbies:
Drivers of those infamous yellow gabs. They are always there when you need them and will even wait by a lake for you until you return; just make sure they don't keep the meter running.

Gabby-oop!:
A Gabberish exclamation of encouragement or surprise; Xena was purported to have exclaimed "Gabby-oop!" during the well scene in Altared States, just before Gabrielle asks, "Did I hurt you?"

GABchat:
Really, we don't need to explain this.

Gabcurve:
(1) A grading system for a Gabsterpiece episode of X:WP with a sliding scale from A+ to B+ (there can be no Gabsterpiece with a lower grade!). (2) The outline of the bard's body in silhouette; specifically the torso and posterior regions.

Gabduction:
The kidnapping of a bard, usually at knifepoint.

Gabeesh:
Means- "Do you understand?" Proper usage: "I told you not to mess with my Gabrielle shrine! Gabeesh?!?"

Gaberdeen:
The outer garment worn by the Clan MacGab, or a city where the headquarters of Clan MacGab are located.

Gabficionada:
A connoisseur of high-end MacGab cultcha.

Gabfirmation:
A solemn declaration to the Goddess Emeritus Gabrielle; breaking any oath of Gabfirmation will result in punishment by the Laird on the grounds of perjury.

Gab-Gab:
Short for "gabsolutely gabulous"; as a noun, can also refer to any GABchat or discourse concerning the Poteidaian bard.

Gabgrab:
A subtle, tantalizing, bardic gesture which, depending on the reading of the viewer can signify "we're just good friends" (straight context) or, "we're really, really, good friends" (gay context). See the "good-bye" scene in Prometheus.

Gabilious:
When motion sick bards echo the color of their BGSBs.

Gabitat:
The fantasy world to which a bard retreats when reality becomes overwhelming.

Gabitator:
A person who tries to stir up fans in support of Gabrielle. Perfessor Puppet is a notorious Gabitator.

Gablunacy:
Chronic mental affliction thought to be genetically linked to overindulgence in all things Gabberish.

Gablutions:
The mysterious... um... bathing practices of Gab and Xena.

Gabobsled:
A litter by which to carry a wounded Gabrielle. [See: One Against An Army]

Gabodacious:
Used to describe the Clan MacGab.

"Gab of all trades":
A name given to those who have "many skills," such as bard, warrior, Amazon princess, pan flute player, negotiator, psychotherapist of the Xenaverse.

GABosh:
To put the squash/crush on something. Example: "Would someone put the Gabosh on that recurring J**** character?"

Gabrachnaphobia:
A paralyzing fear of talking spiders.

GABreeze:
Easy. "I just aced my exam, it was a GABreeze."

Gabriellian Task:
Any labor requiring the diligence, persistence and bardly skills of Gabrielle. Proper usage: "Robin found the writing of her dissertation to be a Gabriellian Task".

Gabprehension:
A feeling of foreboding. Example: "The bard felt a keen sense of Gabprehension when she entered the Giant's graveyard."

Gabrobatics:
Any difficult or intricate moves requiring great skill or agility; a word usually used in referring to Gabrielle's fighting techniques. [See also: Half-Gabber; Full-Gabber].

Gabsabs:
The stunning effect resulting from Xena's uncharacteristic shopping spree at the Salmoneous Factory Outlet to find Gabby a new outfit for the season opener.

Gabsbury Park:
A Gabberish pseudonym for the Valley Forge Historical Park, site of the first Clan MacGab Gabgames in October of 1997 (A.D.)

Gabsentia:
A condition that occurs during a Gabby-light episode.

Gabsmacked:
Being surprised into total silence. Proper usage: "Lucy and Reneé came into the room and I was Gabsmacked!"

Gabsterpiece:
(1) A Gabheavy episode of X:WP done with extraordinary skill. (2) A supreme intellectual or artistic achievement done in the name of Our Goddess.

Gabstounded:
To be greatly Gabstonished or amazed by the Bard of Poteidaia. Example: "ArLEEEne was Gabstounded at the sight of Gabrielle as the Amazon Queen."

Gabstraction:
An inappropriate lack of focus, such as a sudden urge to sink a chakram into some guy who is annoying Gabby while one is already busy battling the biggest, baddest Centaur of them all.

Gabstruck:
The Gabberish equivalent of starstruck, a term exclusive to the worship of Renee O'Connor.

Gabtastrophe:
Any great or sudden catastrophe afflicting the Warrior Bard.

Gabumental Gabevent:
Any XenaCon or Fest at which Reneé O'Connor will be a guest and/or a major topic of discussion.

Gabundant:
Lotsa.

Gabundance:
Lotsa, or Gab dancing with Bacchae.

Over-Gabundance:
Lots and lotsa.

Gabvancement:
To promote the glories of Gabrielle, either in speech or by writing. Gabvocates are activists in the Gabvancement Movement.

Gabventure:
Any heroic adventure involving the Bard of Poteidaia or her followers.

Gabversity:
A state of wretchedness or misfortune. Example: It is rumored that Gabrielle will face tremendous Gabversity in the third season of X:WP.

Gabvice:
A recommendation offered by Gabfans regarding a decision or course of conduct.

GABvine:
Gossip; in full, a GabVine Telegraph.

Gabvocate:
See: Gabvancement
Gauking:
Staring lecherously at a Texas belle while vacationing in Auckland. Usually accompanied by excessive drooling and aphasia.

GiGo:
Gabby in, Gabby out: to live, breathe and speak of/for the Beauteous Bard; to be totally immersed in her.

Lombardy:
A place in Gaul where Bards get together, or the lower back region of ROCkers.

Red ROCkets, Bilious Green GABoomers, and Gold Gabby Wheels:
Fireworks that are popularly used in celebration of Gabumental Gabevents.

Reneesian fields:
The really ROCkin' great beyond for all good Gabfans and ROCkers.

Common Gabberish:
Gabulous, gabcredulous, gabsorbed, bardly, bardish or gabbish, gabpreciatively, gabiniverse, gabberwhoosy, vogabulary, gabridiculous, gabsolutely, gabricate, gabuflection, bardifying, gabventurous, Gabstain, gabberation, gabracadabra!, gabsurdity, gababble, gabsterpendous, gabberflasted, gabnormal, gabstruck, gabsent-minded, gablicious, gabtastic, gabbabunga, gabzooks!, gablust, gaballure, gabdore (gabdoration)
